A member of the European Union, Romania has an expanding economy characterized by high growth, low unemployment and declining inflation. Romania's main exports include clothing and textiles, industrial machinery, electrical and electronic equipment, automobiles, metallurgical products, and pharmaceuticals. Delphi Romania is proud to be a contributor to this emerging free market economy.

Delphi Presence

Delphi Romania has been a vital part of the economy since 1995. Delphi electrical/electronic architecture plants in Romania are located in Sannicolau Mare and Ineu. Delphi Romania is the major employer in this area with over 7,500 employees. In the past decade, Delphi Romania has expanded several times to meet an increasing demand for transportation components and systems. Combining a strong local presence with Delphi's global resources, Delphi Romania offers our customers innovation, quality, and excellence.

ISO/TS is the quality standard developed and agreed upon by automakers around the world to help organizations create a common commitment to quality. Delphi plants successfully passed the ISO/TS 16949 audit in 2005. The same year they also obtained ISO 14001 certification, an international standard developed to encourage and support the implementation of environmental management systems.

Products manufactured by Delphi plants in Sannicolau Mare and Ineu for customers throughout Europe include:

Wiring harnesses for automotive body, interior, and doors
Small harnesses

Delphi will start to produce common rail diesel pumps and injectors in Iasi in 2008.

Delphi plants in Sannicolau Mare and Ineu are currently recruiting mainly in the technical fields for advanced quality and design engineers. The company is also looking for higher level, experienced and skilled management personnel.

The Delphi diesel plant in Iasi plant seeks to attract recent graduates from technical universities through intensive training programs. Iasi County offers a good environment for the new business to grow, considering the deep pool of well-qualified, talented employees from which Delphi selects and augments those talents. Delphi already has a strong and long term relationship with Gheorghe Asachi University in Iasi, developing a recruiting program for graduates. The company also collaborates with technical high schools in Iasi.

Delphi Romania employees are involved in cultural and social development activities in their local community, aiming to be good citizens in the regions. Commitment to the local community is shown by joining social events and activities that benefit the less fortunate. In addition, local organizations, foundations and charity programs are supported through donations by Delphi Romania plants at both sites.

Each year, Delphi provides internship positions to students from universities in the regions. This allows candidates the opportunity to practice and gain valuable job experience.
